Synopsis:
Women, irrespective of religions live a dictated existence.  They do not have the privilege to say ‘No” to what hinders their human growth.  They can not decipher the letters of the law that gives them rights because they are often illiterate.  Even literate, being socially and economically dominated by family and society’s males cannot claim what is their right.  Those who challenge denial of equal status and right to debate are declared obstinate and disrespectful.  Father’s husband finds them inconvenient and unadjustable….

The serial through the characters of SHAMA, AMEETA, SABA AND MEERA, presents both the educated, aware and self respecting females who realize that they have to acquire education complete ferociously and achieve economic independence to escape a subordinate existence.  Unless they learn to say “No”, they cannot contribute to a balanced and rational society that respect individuality and agree to concede women a changed redefined and gladly accepted role, that would enrich the family unit to break the taboos that improves human growth. 

 

There are males like Raja Sahib, Abid and Khalid, who not only tenderly love but gladly concede to their spouses and beloved the right to equal participation and equal respect. 

 

The writer believes in and presents better human beings, better set of values, updated ideas, relationships beyond caste and religions and a new vocabulary, literary, cultured and scientific  -a better, political and responsive image of Indian Society.  Entertainment has a cultured sheer, conflict has elemental passion but dominance of rationality and human understanding and respect.

 

Serial highlights that feminism is not anti-male.  A better status for women means – educated, enlightened mothers, sisters, daughters and enjoying same privileges that wives do – and all out improvement of family life.
